Any Problems with your Paint?
You might want to consider getting it color sanded if most of the truck is still in good shape and have the clearcoat reshot before the color coat goes to hell and you start getting the "C" started. Outside of getting a new clear layer I don't know how else you can save it. It really sucks because its a manufacturing flaw in the paint, but there aren't many options to a good fix and D/C won't touch it.
My 2001 black dodge dakotas clear coat is failing. I've washed and applied paint sealant on it on a regular basis as i am a detailer and my truck has to look perfect all the time.

I had a couple of spots which needed to be touched up, with touch up paint... It's amazing you would think that they would paint the vehicles so the paint would last..................I can't even imagine how much a paint job would cost for my truck..

By the time I got rid of my 99 earlier this year, it was begining to crack slightly and the clearcoat was failing, only on the roof and the hood. No problems with the new one yet though, and god I hope I don't have any!
My understanding is that because of the EPA mandated reformulations for paint, NONE of the metallic or black paints last very long... especially the metallics... Those flakes seem to act like little lenses, speeding heating and oxidation... Ford Blue and metallic was especially notorious for failure..
I don't worry about this much, as I only own white cars/trucks.... most durable color you can find.
