throttle hesitation/delay
When Im driving my 05' Ram 1500 and I hit the gas or smash it to the floor to either fly by someone or just for the hell of it it seems like there is a second or two that it just sits there and does nothing and then after that delay it seems lit gets up and goes all at once. I can punch it to make it through a light and from the time I hit the gas at the intersection and get to the other side and let off the gas my speed doesnt change any in that short time. Has anyone else have this happen with theirs or is this a comon thing with the newer rams? and is there anyway of getting rid of that delay or hesitation?

I would blame the electronic throttle body.
We have replaced a few for severe hesitation..in extreme cold (below 0F) they can be all together non-responsive. Once again, this problem has been corrected.
The RPMs go up but it just doesnt move it sitts there at the same speed for awhile and then kicks in. I mean its not like I hit the gas and a few minutes go by but its a long 2-3 seconds or more before it'll kick in while driving.
And this is in Arizona where its 110 outside so its deffinately not the cold doing anything. I have also encountered this in my dads 97 chevy, it hesitates its almost as if it was trying to build the power up before it would want to speed up.....

Sometimes the Butt accelorometer works faster than the electronics.
If the problem continues, you may want to run it into the shop to be checked out, or at least have it on the books.

My 04 does same thing if I floor it really fast takes time to open the TB. It's the drive by wire is all just not as fast as the old cable is with the cable push the gas and its alive. push gas on drive by wire down really fast and it takes some time before the signal gets through to the TB.
this is how my hemi is too....i get what you mean, you floor it on the highway and it takes a second for it to go but then you get that little 2 toned acceleration, like it kicks in then it really kicks in and goes...i compare it to my old gmc sierra...it sometimes took awhile for it to do anything, but i just think this is how the hemi is...i don't think anything's wrong with ur truck
