I read awhile back a brief post on modding your transmission's shift point by removing a pin from your pcm harness on these trucks. I have since done a search for info on that mod and sent a pm to dodgegirl, who I was told posted something on this originally, with no response. Could someone out ther please fill me in on how to accomplish this mod correctly. As you may have read in my past posts I tow frequently and am looking for a firmer shift, especially now that I have my lift and tires installed. I don't want to go out and buy another Hypertech if there is in fact a mod I can do myself to give me similar results without the tuner. Any help or info you may be able to share would be appreciated. Thanks!

 

This only works on the 4.7/5.7 with the 545rfe trans.

Does it work on the 4.7 2003 1500 ram if so can you tell me what pin to remove to get the better shift. Does it make the trans work harder.

 

Supposedly, it eliminates the torque management which decreases low RPM torque to make the tranny live longer. This is also only good with the 03 model year as there was a slight change in 04 to where this couldn't be done. Search for torque management and you'll find it.

 

i have an 03 with the 5.7, now what exactly does pulling the pin for the pcm harness do? and what pin is it you pull?
