20.2 MPG??
Took a road trip yesterday to NJ from Upstate NY. Had my '06 Ram for 4 months now and it had 2,700 miles when I left. Overhead console showed 19.8 to 20.2 MPG the whole trip. On the way home showed 16.8 to 17.3. Both were driven with cruise on at 70 MPH. Last trip I took to NJ I averaged in the 17s. Can the 20.2 be correct??
Well, from whgat I have heard the overhead computer will be a MPG over what it actually. But, when I went up to CT and had a tailwind, I averaged about 18 and highest sustained (about 3-4 minutes) was 21. So, I would say yes it is possible, but I wouldn't get used to it.

I drive about 60 miles round trip to and from work on the hwy...my average is at 20 mpg as well on my 06.Seems to get better the more miles I put it. Just shy of 4k miles now
Absolutely no way is anyone getting 20mpg from one of these trucks. Impossible. Maybe in short distances along flat highway.
If it was possible, don't you think Dodge would have that in a huge advertisement all over the place.
The overhead console is wrong, you have to keep track of it by full tanks of gas and mileage.

I beg to differ. It all depends on how heavy your foot is. Aftermarket mods also play an important role. I am seeing almost 22 hwy from the 03 4.7. and about 15-16 town. Have tried 45 mile trips as well as 150 mile. Every time resetting the overhead. Have checked it against my calculations and its anywhere from .3-.6mpg off from what i get.
I had one trip going to the lake. I was following my uncle who was pulling a trailer full of wood. So we had slow take offs and we stayed right at 70. Normaly when I'm going down and not pullign anything i get about 17-18. Following him down and hten taking it weasy coming back, I got just over 20. 20.6 to be exact. I do have an 06 QC Hemi and the only mod I have is a tonneau cover. I also Know on my wifes envoy, we usually average about 17-18 mpg on highway. However we took it to Colorado last summer and between home "Oklahoma" and halfway through Kansas, we got about 22-23 mpg. That is the only time it has ever gotten that high and acourse on teh way back. I checked the mileage both time when I filled up and they were both correct. So I would say that it is possible to see higher then advertise, depending on your driving and where your driving.
