20.2 MPG??

RE: 20.2 MPG??
20mpg might very well be possible. When my father brought his 01 Vette down to FL from MD, he was getting 32mpg! That was all highway, probably 65mph, cruise control. But he usually gets 25-26mpg crusing around town. Anyway, it is possible to get better than listed economy, somehow.

Put yourself in the shoes of a Dodge marketing executive. If over 20 mpg were possible wouldn't you be advertising that everywhere? A recent article in consumer reports was saying that the mpg listed on stickers is inflated on most vehicles. Maybe you guys live where it is perfectly flat, always have a tailwind and your home and workplace are on a highway.

Best I've gotten so far in mine was 18.6 driving at 72 mph from Daytona to Tampa with a light load. Going 5-8 mph slower might have yielded another 1-2 mpg.
Around town, in stop and go, I see low 13's.
...glad I still have a motorcycle.

RE: 20.2 MPG??
Well, I'm about to turn 18K miles on my truck and the MPG has seemed to level out. It increased in MPG to about 15K miles. I guess everything is finally getting nice and broke in. I've had a best of 19.x with my truck at 65mph and using paper and pencil. Overhead said 22.x My usual average is 17-18 on the hwy depending on speed and conditions. 20mpg is plausible and I won't discount it, but 20mpg is not common. Now that I am not in south florida my average mpg has crept up to around 15mpg or so and I'm happy with that.

I sell these trucks and i have to tell you, I have several guys swearing they are getting 20 mpg with quad cab, 4x4, MDS, 20" wheels (mind you the 20's also have 3.92 axle). Window sticker says 18 hwy., fine print says "mileage ratings ranging from 09 to 24 mpg city and 11 to 29 mpg highway". This is a national average and Dodge will state conservatively to cover there ***. Believe the previous posters. These trucks are the best they have ever been.
