LOTS of water coming in through heater vents

LOTS of water coming in through heater vents
I have a newly emerged issue with my 20002 Ram 1500 QC. My wife got back into town after a trip to pick up some furniture and walked in the house and told me that water is pouring out from under my dashboard!! So, i take a drive, and when I turn, massive amounts of water are pouring out of my heater vent on my passenger side and there are small amounts coming down through where some of the wires go up under the dash. There is no smell, just plain old water so has to be some kind of leak. Thing is, it was not raining at the time. It may have rained in the previous days, but I am not sure as I was out of state for work. Is there any cavity in there that rain could have gotten trapped in and then when I turn it is flowing in?
I did some searching on the board and found some other posts referring to removing the plastic cover below the windshield wipers and making sure nothign is plugged up in there, so I will definitely try that.
Again, I am talking about mass amounts of water. I probably saw at least a gallon come in while I was driving it.
Thanks much for any advice.

Man that has to suck..hope you were able to save your carpet, but if you had the rubber mat no problems there. Yeah make sure no leaves or sticks or anyting else is blocking the drains from were the HVAC draws in air from the out side. Also on the passenger side make sure that the evaportator drain tube is not clogged. This sounds more like the problem. That is the lowest point on the HVAC system and if its working probaly will even handle the heater core bursting. Its a black house about 3/4 inch that comes out of the firewall and points down just to the inside of the passenger side frame rail. You can get to it really easy if you go under the dash on the pass side and remove the blower motor/cage, 4 bolts, but with that much water i would use a coat hanger or wire and probe the drain pipe..remember to keep your head back...lol...let us know if it turns out to be something diffrent so we can all be on the look out..

I just replaced the heater core in my 03 QC 1500. Had same problems, worse when parked faceing up hill, due to the drain as mentioned in the post above. Also heater would only work on pasenger side due to loss of antifreez. Does it smell like antifreez, and is your coolent low? Had my friend look for any recalls, because it shouldn't happen this soon but no luck

I just had the same problem. Just got my truck back from dealership yesterday. Same as u were saying, it looked like a mini waterfall coming out from the dash board and the vents on or near the floor. They told me it was the condensation from the A/C. The pump or whatever that gets rid of the water outside the truck was clogged. Hope this helps. I actually havent been able to tell if they fixed it in mine yet. Time will tell.

If it is smelly with a slick texture it would be coolant from the heater core. You would also be loosing some coolant from the system.
If it is clear with little or no odor (could have musty smell) it is just condensation from the A/C system and the A/C drain for this is probably stopped up. Just needs to cleaned.
Could be more of a problem, but this is the simple stuff.
