why am I getting 8.8mpg??
I thought the hemi was spose to do good on gas. In town I average between 8.8 and 10mpg. Highway is about 12-15. is that right? or do i have some kinda problem. Yes i can say im "slightly" leadfooted but i dont think it would be that big of a change.
well i have a 05 quad cab 3.92 hemi auto..that i get around 13.0 in town and around 17.5( window stickers says 14 town 18 highway) driving my areas 65mph limit....even when im lead footed i cant get it to go that low...maybe you should have your dealer take a look at it.
oh yeah....the Hemi's claim to fame is being "good on gas".
since you offer no vehicle info....it makes it a little difficult to make suggestions.
plus...you are 17 and have "racer" in your forum ID.
so...that's the way it is.

The Hemi's a lot of things, but good on gas isn't one of them. 8 is a little low, but not far from where mine was when new. Get some miles on it, go to syn oil, put a K&N in and lighten up on the throttle and it'll get better, but nobody with any common sense ever bought one of these things for the mileage.
When I bought My 05' 1500 I was getting around 13.8mpg and then it upped to around 14 and has stuck there for the longest time and now that Ive added a few mods its up to around 15.8-16.2mpg and thats driving rush hour traffic everyday monday through friday and around town. I think Ive gotten it as low as 11 before but that was when I was really gunning it seeing what it could do. But 8-10 seems a little low.........
Also I did buy my truck for the gas mileage mainly because my old truck was a 76' chevy short bed truck that I had tuned and retuned to the point where it had roughly 380rwhp and over 400lbs of torque which in return gave me between 6-8mpg and when you only have a 16 gallon gas tank your basically filling it up at least twice a week and it was just breaking my wallet

Good on gas? [sm=smarty.gif]
Dont know where you got that from.
I average 13 city 17 highway.
Being leadfooted does make a huge difference.
Big tires? Low tire pressure? Clogged air filter?
Alot of factors have effect on gas mileage,
but dont expect good mileage by any means.
