I know of someone who has a used whipple supercharger dual pulley that came off of a '99 chevy tahoe 5.7L vortex engine. What I want to know is if anyone out there who would tell me if that supercharger is compatible with my 2003 dodge ramtruck 4.7L? Let me know if there is any important information that needs to be mentioned or specific information that would be helpful to you. Thank you.

 

Lemme clarify myself once again if I may sound a tiny bit hogwash, the whipple supercharger might be a 1996 - 2000 Vortec 5.7 L31 Engine. If that be the case, then i reckon it may or may not be compatible with my 4.7L. However on the course of one hand, the whipple supercharge has already been used on the Tahoe. Hope that helps.

 

i wouldn't even try it, chevy small block vs a 6 cylinder mopar, big difference there. So no, dont think it would work

I'm not saying this couldn't work......because you could make it work. But it would require a lot of $$$ just to make a different lower intake manifold to mount the blower on, and a custom crank pulley to run the blower. Then of course there's the fueling...and the computer work. It wouldn't be a "bolt on" mod. [&:]

 

not worth the effort, get an STS turbo system. for around 4K you get all the hardware and a coputer tuning system to make some unholy gains

I don't have the money to make it into a turbo...but I do have enough resoruces to get the supercharger. As for them tools and place to do it I can get'em for free coz I know some peeple. I also am mechanically inclined and have a little of know how to do it. Finallly I have time to do it on one weekend if possible. FYI, i'm always doing custom stuff to my own project cars and trucks. Tha's all i wanted to know my fellow men. Bring on them ribs!

 

You should put that in yer signature so peeple won't get confused. Someone like yourself should get the proper recognizatino. That way you can always declare yourself.
