So would the Hemi get it's *** handed to him?... how bout if the Hemi had exhaust CAI?... Curious because one parked next to me at the movies and both trucks looked fast [sm=badbadbad.gif] ... hummm...... everthing else is the same (IE QC 4X2.. or are ss trucks 4X4??.. etc)

 

the SS silverado is AWD

 

AWD..are they as heavy as a 4X4 ram?..

 

actually last year model was awd but the 2006 comes only in 2wd! i wonder why they changed it, they probably blew up the fronts or chewed up the t-case

looks like the ss is 5471 and a hemi QC is 5038

so the dodge is lighter from what the sites say

 

Not to be mean or anything, I'm not ragging on your truck, but the 06's are slower. The 03-05 QC 4x2 Hemi ran around a 15.5-15.6. The SS's will typically get 15.1-15.3, and maybe 14's with a good driver. Only take on the SS with a Regular Cab 4x2 and an 03-05 Hemi. He'll beat you, but it wont be like 6 lengths or anything like that.

 

I raced my uncle's SS with my Reg. Cab 05' 1500 with the 5.7 HEMI and was basically at his tailgait the entire 1/4 mile+/- but after I put on my Borla Exhaust System I was able to just barely get about a hoods length in front of him. Hopefully after I get my superchips tuner Ill be able to increase that gap by alot more though

RUN THE SS IN THE GROUND!!

 

[8D] Chevy made the ss rwd for tire skome action, read it in motortrend, they weren't having problems with it. havent driven anything newer than mine, (its an 03 with the hemi) never had the opportunity of an ss rolling up next to me, but stock they are a little quicker. dont forget, dodges are 4 doors, SS's are 1 1/2 doors they are a little lighter, same horse power stock, just a lighter truck. [X(]

 

The 2006 HEMIs do not produce any less HP but the shift points are even worse that the 02-05 models. Superchips cleans that right up. Yay beer, er I mean superchips.

 

So...the 06 are not slower they just changed the shift points?... does anyone make a chip for the 06 yet?...
