RE: 06 haters -
I just looked it up, and they are already available! I was pretty surprised. There is only a cataloge for the 2500/3500 but the dash is the same as the 1500 of course.
The price scared me a little though $294 for satin silver.
There is also a color keyed one available for $148...I will be going that route.

I dont know of any pics, yet.
If you want to replace the woodgrain on the doors you will have to buy new door panels too...You will be looking at big bucks to get rid of the wood-grain.
A thought I had was to have the body shop call me the next time they painted a silver vehicle and i would give him the panels to paint over the woodgrain.

I love my faux wood grain!
To me, the satin (crappin!) silver/stainless/call-it-what-you-will makes the dash/interior look like the finish of a cheap watch.
The faux wood grain makes it look like a slightly more expensive cheap watch..
Still beats the finish in my old 03 ST.
If I had to do it over when buying my 06, I'd stick with the grain.
As for the 'firmness' of the seats.... I really enjoy the fact that the seats in my 06 are firmer... I feel ZERO driver's fatigue in the new rig... whereas in my 03, a 110 mile trip to the shore would leave me stretching/pacing for a good half-hour... Way more supporting.
The stock lamps are brighter and better focused, the suspension has been more responsive (in my opinion) both on and off road, and color me stupid, but I'd swear there's something different in the steering box... Seems way more easy to park or back down a trailer with my 06 than my 03...
I am totally IN LOVE with the added fuel mileage. By the time I traded my 03 (4.7L) I couldn't get more than 15 on the highway.....
I get 22+ (usually 23+ depending on loading) with the MDS and 89 octane (20 if I have the misfortune of getting 89 E10)
The only complaint I've had about the 06 is that the front end changes were significant enough that I can't install the brushguard from my 03, had to eBay it... and have yet to find a satisfactory replacement. I'll get over it... Just gotta pray someone has one available before the rut is in full swing.

I am going to have to side with the wood grain lovers. I personally love it and wish there was more of it. Comparing my '06 with a friends '05 is interesting. Firmer seats, different cloth on the seats, the wood trim etc. While hers is a hemi 2500 and mine is a Power Wagon, its not fair to compare the suspension and gearing. She get better gas miliage with hers but with 4.56s in mine, it will run away from hers everytime. I think Dodge needs to keep the wood trim. my .02
