Just went with my little bro yesterday - he just got an 06 single cab short bed 2WD hemi - awesome little truck


I must say his seat apolhstry (sp) and dash are nicer than my 05 QC hemi. Also, his trucks got some get up, i didnt find it uncomfortable or slow at all, although i only have it to compare to my larger QC, his truck didnt seem like it didnt have power. Is the MDS what everyone is bitching about? Isnt the difference so small that its not noticable and it should improve mpg; sounds like a good thing to me???


I like the 06s and wish my interior was just as nice - my 05 is just blah - I'm 6'2 and i fit comfortable in there (not 6'9 so not sure Rob)



To each their own, but with the recent threads of ppl bashing on the 06's; i just wanted to say, i didnt see any performance issues and the interior has a little more zest to it than mine (his did have the wood grain bezel, and door inserts)

My only complaint is the wood trimmed interior.
Dodge is already doing away with it for 2007 - switching it to satin silver.

 

I would agree on the wood trim. My 06 QC has it and I really do not care for it, but everyone who gets in my truck loves it. I don't get it.

Dodgedlr - Are they changing the interior of the 07 much or could I replace my wood trim witht he satin silver trim?

I love my 06, I will admit that I would prefer the satin silver to the wood grain.

 

No hater here but I do think the 06 interior looks somewhat cheap. Outside of leather, the seat uppolstry looks cheap like the lower end models of the old days. Seat design and comfort, I don't know, never been in one. The dash and components look somewhat boxy and square instead of gracefully rounded and blended in the earlier 3gens. I personally think the 06 looks like a Dakota on steroids. My pref is the earlier models but that is just me...

 

I don't like the wood, either. Looks and feels cheap. The ride on the other hand, is fantastic. Windnoise is dramatically reduced, at least to my ears. The dash layout is nice, too.

 

I found the new seats to be firmer(harder) than older models. I will take my nice cushy seats in my 05 over the new ones anyday.... I like the new style though, except like everyone else the wood trim is bad.

 

Ha Ha, you read my mind.
I plan on doing that as soon as parts are available. That is the only difference for the interior.

 

Any idea when it may be available and what the cost may be?
