ok road trip results!!
Just returned back to WA from Texas 2430 miles total (7000)lbs trailer dual axle, i got 12.6 mpg for the trip average, not bad considering the weight and from denver to tacoma is nothing but mountain passes and i was impressed with power plenty of it and consider how much 4x4 mega and that trailer weighs and i think it did real well .The only gripe is the transmission likes to jump around to much and it is just anoying.
Also my average speed for the trip was 70 mph truck now has 5500 miles on it and is running better than new!!

Not bad results at all. Like most, I noticed a gain in MPG up to about 15K miles. The Hemi just gets better with time. Just hit 18K this morning and she's getting the best MPG I've ever had now that I'm not living in south Florida (thank God)
I got transferred from MS to CT, but had to go by way of TX (relocated wife after Katrina). With a 6000lb load from San Antonio to the middle of CT, I think I averaged about 11 mpg, except in the TN mountains. Had to leave the OD off for most of the trip, just kicked it on at 70 or so when I would hit level ground (which wasn't often).
Just passed 19k on my 2005 hemi. Been seeing consistent 18.5 to 19 mpg on the free way without a load. Hopefully after next weekend when I get my underdrive pulley and electric fan on I'll be over the 20mpg mark. Not bad for a truck that stickers at 17mph.
Hey i11m10c2,
Glad to see you made it back ... damn 12.9 is great ... Im leaving for Penny next week. ... doing the Hershey, Gettysburg, Lancaster thangy fer vacation. Hope I'd be happy wiff 10 miles per gallon. I did a few minor mods, Gibson exhaust and drop in K+N. Feels a little more peppy just starting out ... I dont know ... may be in my mind. As a matter of fact the camper is sitting on the hook as I type this note ... off to Smithfield KOA this weekend to go on a dry run to ensure that everythings working prior to the long haul. Ill clock it too and see what I get.

Made a the same trip (Seattle-New Orleans) a few times in my '05. Averaging about 10mph over the speed limit but not pulling anything I got anywhere from 14.8-15.6mpg. The mileage isn't great but of course that's not what I bought it for. Course my route was either I-8 thru San Diego then up or I-10 into L.A. then up. Never went the short way (through the east side of WA or OR).
