Default potential 06' Ram 1500 QC 4X4 buyer....should I?

Any reasons not to buy an 06'? Should I wait to see if the MDS system has flaws? I am not that mechanically inclined and am unsure about buying an 06' with the new engine system. Also, any problems with the 06's?

I have an 06 TRX4 regular cab with the hemi MDS. I love the truck. No problems with anything. The MDS system is seamless, I can't tell when it kicks in, although I think it only works for hiway driving under steady speed and light throttle. I did have to take it back to the dealer for a customer satisfaction notice (recall) for the transmission cooler return filter, which was replaced. I did not have any trans problems before I took it in though.

I have an 06 2WD, not even 200 miles so no problems but I do believe the MDS e has been available in other Dodge/Chrysler cars before 06??

Just hold off a few months or so... unless there is an unbeatable sale going on. What a little longer going o hurt. Better safe than sorry

MDS has been around on the LX cars (Magnum, Charger, 300C) since '05. On dealers lots in '04.
It is a proven system.

Right now there are combined rebates of up to $7,000.... If you thinking of buying, June might be the best time.
July, is usually pretty incentive heavy times...but I can't see anything going BETTER than what we have now.

I know about the $4500 cash back rebate, but what is the other $2500 you are referring to? I get employee pricing, so another $7500 off that would be killer

I do not think you need to worry about any problems the MDS system. In fact several upper mid west states (MI being one of them) use this same engine in their state police cars and you can bet they did more test than anyone has. Also just read that DC is planning on a very big sale in the next few weeks so keep your eyes open for the sale.

Big sale? What do you think DC will do with the Ram's? There is currently a $4500 rebate, and maybe more according to dodgedlr. Should I wait a few weeks?

Now's the time to buy. I just got an '06' HEMI Ram 1500 QC 4X4 with the Big Horn Edition, 20" Chrome (kind of cheesey) wheels, tow package, 3:92 gears, etc....... in the low/mid twenties. Very happy with the price and how I was treated. Bought mine through Layton Hills Dodge in Layton, UT. Good luck with your purchase, you won't be disapointed.

Right now you've got the rebate, owner loyalty, chrysler financial credit, etc. Now is a good time to buy. If you're not ready, wait another year when the rebates are about the same. DC goes in predictable rebate cycles it seems like.
