Nope they're not, You almost will never get the ultra shiny chrome look with these wheels although there are some poishes out there that can do it and Ive seen it done at one of the car shows around here where a guy was polishing the bottoms of dull aluminum cans and making them look like chrome and me the dumbass didnt pick up any of it and now I cant find the product he was using anywhere around here. If they were clear coated you would be able to tell the second you put any type of soap or tried to polish them cause it causes the clear coat to fade and the aluminum will oxodize almost immediately leaving all sorts of spots and they'll look horrible (did it once on my old chevy not knowing my new wheels were). Mothers polishes seem to work well specially with that powerball or alot of elbowe grease.....

Get a good drill, a Mother's Powerball, and some good metal polish. That will make those things SPARKLE!!!! You can find the Powerball here on the 4th page of the Mother's PDF catalog

ha, funny u say that because thats what I polished them with was the powerball. I used the mothers aluminum polish too. I guess I was expecting a much better shine than I got afterwards. Anybody know a polish that will satisfy me???

What was the RPM on the drill? And how long did you polish each wheel? If you can rub and the paste is still turning black with minimal effort, keep polishing. The reason I ask is that you can only polish bare aluminum to a certain degree. It will never be shiny like chrome, but it can look nice and have good reflective qualities.

Have any pics?

I polished them pretty much till it started drying up, when buffed off the towel. I used my craftsman 19volt on high speed. I am trying to upload pics of my truck but when I did it said file to big, i dunno. Will try again right now

i know the wheels look fine from far away, but up close there are little swirls and stuff on the spokes.

If you just put a little on and it dries up, gotta add more. Your wheels are shouting "We want some mo, We want some mo, We want some mo!!"

I'd try it again, but keep polishing as needed and use the polish liberally. Not to where it is slinging all around, but enough to keep it from drying up in you.

Go to the power polishing clinic and see what it is all about This will give you many great tips. Granted it is a little different, but the process is similar.

You might want to try adding a VERY LIBERAL amount and hand polish them for a little while and then adding some to the power ball and finish it off. Also use a fine cloth to finish buffing the wheels like an old shirt or something and really try to polish them. When I polish my wheels it usually take around 15-20min per wheel to get them to shine the way I want them too..... Also in order to not have to repeat this long process everytime you wash your truck or the wheels get dirty invest in some eagal1 aluminum wheel cleaner or polished aluminum wheel cleaner and just spray it on, hose them off and whipe them down to dry them with an old t shirt like you do when you polish them and they look like you just spent hours buffing them. I reality you should only have to seriously polish them once a month or every 6-8weeks.
