anyone else notice how easily these seats stain?
Well I just picked my truck up brand new about 2 months ago now. Well I noticed right off the bat that the seats stain VERY easily. Anyone else notice this? I mean a few drops of heavy rain will do it. Anything. And even with oxy magic I can't seem to get stuff all the way out. Carpet is fine, but seats terrible. Wish they had an option for black interior. So how does scotch guard work? I've heard of it plenty but never actually used it or knew anyone that has. Thinking of getting the seats professionally cleaned (hopefully everything comes out) and then taking like 4 cans of scotch guard to the seats.
I have to agree. The seats in my 06 RAM do stain quite easily. I have had it almost a month now and can see some. Even the rain drops that have managed to get on the seats do stain.
There are different quality seats. 06 seat are all different.
I had the premium seats in my 05, and they never stained.

on alldata there is tsb for the jeeps that says you should clean it with warm water and dish soap.

The trick to cleaning them is to literally get the WHOLE seat wet with warm water. This way you don't get the "Hard Water" mark at the perimeter of where you clean, which is really what you're seeing.
My bro left my sliding window open on me last weekend, and I got a good "splash mark" on my back seat... Could see the edges of where it got wet for about 4 days, but then it disappeared. Had one before and just gave the whole seat a light scrub with some warm water and it was good as new.

Clean it however. But dont scotch guard it until you have them cleaned or the stain will be really hard to get out.
My '02 Ram seats stained the first time i sat in them wet. Left a big butt print! Eventually wore off. I have neoprene seat covers on my new dodge now.

I think it has to do with the fabric type. My brother's F-150 has similar cloth to the new Billings cloth in the Ram. His is all stained up as well. Cleaning it only made it worse with the water spots. He gave up and has ordered some new leather covers to replace the cloth.
I have the premium seats in my Ram and haven't had any problems other than the rusty seat frames.
