Default Exhaust decision...

What's up guys! Just picked up my new 06' 1500 QC Hemi a few weeks ago, and let me start by saying I love this thing!!! But as with every other vehicle I own...It's time to mod.

So this is where I need your help. I'm pretty well set on Magnaflow, but I'm debating either the replacement muffler or a cat back system. What do you guys think? I wanted something that wasn't too loud crusing, but will wake you up when you punch it. Any thoughts on the pros and cons of either? As soon as I get this figured out, Superchips and CAI are next on the list! Thanks!!!

The cat back will sound like crap when the MDS kicks in. I'd stay with just the muffler and see how it works out.
You may wanna considor just cutting off the resonator and seeing how you like that.

Hey prerunner what do you mean by the MDS? What does that stand for? I was just thinking about getting the 50 series delta... what's your opinion?

I never really thought about the sound after MDS kicks in. Is it really that bad? For some reason I have the picture of a full size truck that sounds like a Civic stuck in my head!

MDS is the Multi Displacement System. Basically at crusing speeds the motor cuts down to 4 cylinders.

What he said

To me, When the MDS kicks in, Imagine a 5 speed manual transmission....someone is doing 65 on the freeway......they slow down to 45 and then accelerate without downshifting. Thats what it sounds like to me. Like it bogs down! I am actually considoring removing the 50 series because of this. The only reason i haven't yet, is do to the fact that i'm out 300.00

i got the super40 flowmaster on mine and i think it sound great. but i do know what your saying about when it hits about 1800 rpm at highway speeds and it "bogs" but it aint that bad. rev limiter solves that problem quickly.

That may be another reason I opt for just the muffler. If I don't like it, I'm only out a $100.
