speakers in 2002 ram
I think the 02's - 04's have the 6" speakers up front in the doors. I may be wrong on that but when I had my 05' getting my system put in the instalation guys working on it thought that the speakers in my doors were the same as the later models which were the 6" but instead they were 6x9s. As for the rear I couldnt help you there. Id take it to a car audio place and have them suggest what you need in front and back. And if you want to do it your self then go in and tell them what you have and get a quote but have them pick the speakers they would use and you should be able to get a good Idea as to whats in your truck. Other than that you can always read the manual or give a dealer ship a call.
I also repalced the dash speakers with 3 1/2" speakers.
Well that depends, how many speakers can your player support or how many speaker out puts does it have? Exp. Is it a 50Wx4 or a 50Wx6. If its x4 then no not without tapping into another speaker line and if its x6 then yes no problem just attatch the speaker wires to the back of the system and find a mounting point for the speakers
its rms is 18x4 and i was looking for a radio that has six channels and couldn't find one? help [sm=headbang.gif]
but if i tap into a line i wont be able to put a specific frequency range to the dash speakers but then it would co to the fronts, could maybe a amplifier help me here????

Almost forgot this also applies if you have an amp too depending on the set up if you're running your front and reaer off your amp then you should be able to run the tweeters of the player with no problem but it all depends on how many speakers its set up to run.

the x6 are out there but they cost a bit more you just gotta look around. If it were me I would hook up an amp that is at least x4 so that you can run your back speakers and either your fronts or get some subs and run the rest off the player. That way you can tune the rears the way you like it and the fronts to the right frequencies. The Amp would probably be the best way to go if I were in your shoes.
Also in most of the newer amps you can tune the amp to make a set of speakers do what you want them to do and have your deck do the rest.

well my head unit has sub outputs for the front rear and sub woofer , so what your saying is get an amplifier run the front and rears from the amp and then run the fronts off the deck!! correct?
First off make sure your head unit can run an Amp.
Now hook up an Amp that has a minimum of 4 out puts to your system, Then (depending what you have) run the rear speakers to the amp and if you have a sub connect it to the amp as well (if you want you can run the front door speakers off the amp too, ask a local car audio place for the right amp to do this). Then connect the front door speakers (if not connecting them to the Amp) and the dash speakers and run them off the deck. Use the Sub Settings for the Amp Settings, Use the Back speaker Settings for the doors and use the Front Speaker Settings for the Dash and enjoy. Its not as complicated as it sounds but I really wouldnt recommend doing this yourself if you haven't done it before.
Thats the setup I would do. there are other ways of running the speakers and setting them up to do what you want and if you are in any way unsure of what you need go to a car audio place and have them look at it and make suggestions. They may have a better way of setting it up.
