mopar borla exhaust
I recently bought an 06 ram hemi quad cab big horn, and I've started to look into aftermarket exhausts. Since I work at a Chrysler dealer, I can get the mopar borla catback exhaust for just under 500 bucks. My question is whether anyone has tried it, (how loud, any gains in hp or throttle response), or if I should look elsewhere for a catback system.

I have a friend with a set up like that and it sounds nice. its not as loud as my Flowmaster 40 but it still has a nice tone to it. Also inside the truck its not bad at all inless you punch it.
Thanks for the reply. It sounds like the borla is the right choice for me. I'm looking for an exhaust that will give me performance gains with a nice rumble but isn't too loud.

I just put a bor;a system on my 05' 1500 and man do I love it. Its quiet untill you hit the throttle and almost no drone until you hit upwards of 2000rpm (70mph for me), highly noticeable gains in horse power and and torque, and an increase from from 14.5mpg to 16.2mpg. It kicks ***! I wish I had your discount though cause mine cost me $750 for the cat-back system. It is a sweet system none the less. You dont just get the bark that most flowmasters give you get the bark and the bite to back it up. Id go for it. Just watch out for the MDS System if you have it cause when it kicks in it makes almost all the exhaust systems sound like crap. Im glad my 05' doesnt have it.
I got the response from Borla theay said the resonator is to remove the droan in the cab they said nothing about how MDS effects their cat back system . The PN 140186 is new you, can find it in the whats new tab then look at the install sheet and you can see a drawing .
I wonder if the sound in the cab they get rid of with the resonator is the same sound that you get when MDS turns on with other aftermarket exhausts. I remember hearing somewhere that the bad sound of the MDS is only heard inside the cab, and not outside of it. This is my first ram, so could somebody tell me if the 06 is the first year to have the resonator on the exhaust? If so, I would imagine the main purpose of it is to cover up the sound of the mds. Although I could be way off.
