Trailer Towing w/ 4.7l
I am planning a trip from Wisconsin to SW Colorado this fall, and I'll be towing an ATV trailer with 2 ATV's. Is there any way I can get a little more power out of my 4.7 Liter, so I'm not struggling when I hit the mountains? Also I read the a lot of people are turning the OD off for their whole trip, any special reason for this? (I have an 03 QC 4X4 4.7L)
Thanks

Two words.......
........4:56 gear swap.
Or would that be three words?
All else is useless eyecandy.
And yes, use the tow/haul button. It's pretty useless but better than the truck trying to go into 5th gear as well as 4th. It wil also change your **** points. With an increased load it will hold the truck in 3rd longer. If all else fails, see if you can disable the front axle and get 2wd low. Don't know if it's possible with the dodge but on my old '86 Jeep, it was a life saver.
