NEED HELP A/C DEFROST
2003 RAM 2500 V8 5.7/ The a/c defrost will not work when I switch it to defrost and I have already tryed the control panel thats not it. ok so, you want the air/heat on and not the defrost but then when i turn the defrost on it wont switch over to defrost! its like stuck or some thing cause i replaced the control panel and the one i replaced it with still had the same problem do you think it is some thing to do with the wireing or what i dont really know but i do know one thing my warrenty is up

There's a TSB that covers this problem. What has happened, I think, is the same thing that happened to my '04; not once but twice. The blend door in the HVAC housing has broken. The TSB calls for replacing part of the HVAC housing, the blend door, and either one or two servo motors. The AC has to be discharged, the coolant drained, and the entire dash has to be removed. It's a big job, and extremely expensive if out of warranty.

A real cheesy way to do this is to pull the dash.I bet you the recirc door is broken and is laying on top of the blower motor fresh air inlet.you can cut out the grader on the top of the box,reach in and pull out the broken door. Remove the motor to it, and install the new door and motor. That way you don't have to remove the box completely out of the truck.
