I had just the muffler put in today I had high hopes I was standing next to the tail pipe when it was started and boy was I bummed sounded almost like stock . The tech said it would be a little louder if I removed the aft resonator so i'm going to wait a week and see how I like it then take the resonator off .
I don't know anything about Magnaflow but in my experience, almost all the performance muflers I have installed need a "burn in" time. Even the Flowmaster on my Z-28 really didn't start sounding good until after about 3 months after installation.
Get rid of that resonator....everything I've read says that'll make it sound meaner. Mine sounds pretty good but they don't put resonators on 2500's...
If you do take out the resonater make sure you keep it just incase you decide that you dont like it. Taking off the resonater ith some exhausts can cause a horrible drone in the cab either at certain speeds or all the time.
Did the same thing with my 2002 F150 SC 4x4. Hated it from day one and couldn't tell a difference in performance. Put true dual (that year has two pipes one of of each manifold going to two cats) exhaust on my son's 2500 Chev 4x4 but used Flowmaster 50's. Not enough sound. Flowmaster 40 on my 1500 and am happy with it, but can only tack 4k in park, doen't really come alive until after 4500-5000. Just MHO.
