I guess I had a little better experience than he did. I have the same single in dual out Flowmaster 50 series system on my 03 Ram 1500, and I installed it myself, with the clamps provided then took it to a welder and had it welded in place for 40 bux. Looks excellent, I can post pics if you'd like tomorrow. I also have the Flowmaster 77 series CAI which I just installed, performance has increased dramatically, and the truck is a whole lot of fun to drive. I cannot wait until I get the 4.56 gears.

As for the exhaust, there is no drone whatsoever. When I first put them on, I expected a little more rumble than I got with the 50 series, and pondered swapping the muffler with a 40 series, until I put on my CAI, and now I have the rumble sound that I wanted. I am also going to ditch the resonator that they put on our 1500's, so that should give it a little more too.

Mileage went from about 13.8 - 15.1 city 17.4 - 18.7 highway (hand calculated) (OH reads 19.2)

Well, I just had a SPIN TECH muffler installed with a dump and it sounds great. I used the Sportsman Street series. 3" in/ 3" out.

It has a nice aggresive sound to it.

The difference in the 30, 40, 50 series is the number of chambers the have. The fewer the chambers the less the restrictionand the louder the sound. I think the 30 series is a 2 chamber, 40 is a 3 chamber, and the 50 is a 4 chamber, but I wouldnt' bet on it.

I have a Gibson Swept Side exhaust and a Volant Cool Air Intake. I get about 3 MPG better with those. The sound is great from the exhaust. Not too loud, but gets the attention of people as you pass them by. I have an 06 Ram Sport 2500 HEMI QC 4x4.

I have a 2003 3/4 ton Q/C short bed with the Hemi. I installed the Gibson Super Truck Exhaust, the one into two that exit in front of the right rear tire. Sounds extremely good. A bit loud for long road trips. But it sounds like a monster when you stand on it. Increased fuel mileage with the exhaust and Volant CAI.

Wow they have really added a lot od new muffler to their line up. I checked out www.flowmastermuffler.com and I was not totally correct in my previous post. You can check the abouve link and see which mufflers are 2 and which are 3 chamber mufflers.

hey everyone, i just joined and think this is a great forum, I just bought an 06 Ram 1500 QC with a HEMI this past saturday and I love it!!! I'm thinkin about putting a cat-back exhaust on it, i'm leaning toward the Flowmaster 40 series, I was wondering if anyone has this on the '06 and how it sounds when the MDS kicks in, was also wondering what the stock pipe size is looks like 2.5" but I'm not sure
