Default K&N Filter Cleaning

I have a K&N FIPK system and I'd like to clean it but I know enough to not try to hose the damn thing out. Certainly some of you around here have experience with these K&N filters and cleaning them.... Any instructions or tips are appreciated, thanks.

Go to your local parts store and purchase a K&N filter recharge kit.
It has all the fluids which MUST be used in order not to damage the cotton in the filter.
Plus, it comes with full instructions on how to clean the filter correctly.
You are right not to just blast away with a pressure washer etc, as this would damage the filter probably beyond repair.

take a regular hose and blow from the inside out. Do not spray it hard.

Make sure to use the cleaning kit that abarmby is refering to.

Its not that hard with the cleaning kit, just make sure you don't over oil the filter, I did that the first time I cleaned mine and had to start the cleaning process all over.

Spray the filter with the cleaning solution. Allow to penetrate and work. Hose gently from the inside out. Allow to dry overnight. Don't try to speed it up with heat or blow dry it or anything. Just let it air dry. Then spray the oil back on. Less is more in this situation.
