Default What can I get for my truck?

I have a 2004 QC Hemi 2x4 short bed SLT 25,000 miles. Dark Grey with black interior. Drop in K&N is the only aftermarket part on it. Kelly Blue Book www.kbb.com show $20,000 or a little more. Is that realistic? It will have two new tires and I plan to have the thing buffed to get rid of the few scratches it has, (I know they'll all come out) and have the carpet shampooed. (I vacume it regularly but I have kids too.)

The only thing not perfect about it is the inside of the bed. Its a truck and I use it. That price is for excelent condition and other than the bed I think it is. Whats up can I get $20,000? Still has more than 6 months left on waranty.

Time to get a new one for me.

In my experience KBB is $2000-$3000 too high and you will need to classify your truck as good not excelent. Excelent if only it is in pristine condition and has all maint. records and they are accurate.

Are you selling outright or trading?

Dodge is blowing out the Ram 1500 2x4's brand new for 20K right now here in Sacramento so getting $20K might be tough.

Depending on options, you are looking at 15K-17K. Probably not what you wanted to here, but it is what it is. When you have a 30K dollar sticker in 2004 and almost 6K in rebates at its peak in 04 and approx another 3K in dealer mark up/hold back, the original price is around 21K or so. So if you lost 5-6K over 2-3 model years (the 07's are starting to come out) it really isn't that bad.

If trading in at a dealer, you could stand firm (if you have good credit) and get $15.5-$16k for it on a good day... End of the month is approaching.
You'd get more if it was a 4x4..

I plan on buying at the end of August, or at least putting mine up for sale then. If it doesn't sell quick I will try to hold firm with the dealer. Financeing won't be a problem because I will do that through my bank. Just trying to figure out what to ask. I do have most of the service records. I think I lost two of the oil changesb but other then that I have them.

Stroker, the way the current incentives are worded, you'll do MUCH better initially financing w/ DCX and then refinancing after you made 1 payment.
You'll get some bonus cash off the truck by going DCX, which will come right off the principle.... If you have a loan on standby with your bank, you just pay off DCX and then go with it... Could save you quite a bit.

Arrowman makes a good point. If there is a CFC (Chrysler Financial Credit) you will only be eligible if you finance with them. It is usually in the neighborhood of $1K and there is usually no prepayement penalty. Just ask before you sign the papers.
