Default MDS and exhaust

I was wondering if anyone has any firsthand experience with aftermarket exhausts and MDS on the 06's. It seems to me all I can find is lots of second hand information, but no people who can say they put on a specific exhaust and this is what happened. Anyone out there who has any experience with the 06's with MDS and aftermarket exhausts?

I just finished mine I didn't do a cat back I but removed the stock muffler and replaced it with a Magnaflow and that sounded almost like stock so yesterday I had the aft resonator removed and a Magnaflow stainless tip a 3" in and 4" out installed. Wow what a differance I love it so far no problems with the MDS yea I can hear it when it kicks in but it's not that bad . I hope this helps.

I put the Flow 50 series on mine. Sounds pretty good. You can tell when the MDS kicks in, but u actually get used to it after awhile.

Same here. Dual Super 40s here and u can definitley tell when it kicks in but with the radio on it's less noticeable.

Can you describe the sound? Is it a miss, a pop, a 4 banger?

I guess thats what it would sound like a 4cylinder truck with a flowmaster exhaust on it.

I can live with that. I could realy care less what it sounds like I am mostly after performance, but I don't want it to be loud to a point I cant have a conversation when on a road trip.

I just put the Flowmaster 17423 Cat-Back on my 06 ram last weekend. I was concerned about the noise inside the cab but it's not bad. I can hear the exhaust but i can also hear myself think and have a conversation with the passenger. I guess like everyone else syas you can tell when the MDS kicks in but after a week I can say it doesn't bother me. Just a quick review of the cat-back system, if anyone cares, the kit is intended to leave the first resinator inplace. I decided to remove the complete system both resinators. It sounds great and all i had to do was get an extension to run from the stock y to the new exhaust. The hardest part was removing the exhuast the kit worked great and I'm happy i decided to go with the kit. Anyway that was my 2 cents.
