4.7L Performance
hey guys. umm i know ive already asked this but i just want to get knew opinions. i have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 QC short bed with a 4.7L (287 i believe) engine. what i want to know is how do i get the most HP and torque out of it as possible. i have a 5" suspension lift with 35" tires, so i know that has a great deal to do with the take off and stuff. i also do alot of off roading. so how do i get better acceleration and get the most HP out of the lil 4.7l as possible?
Do you have a intake system? Exhaust? For my 4.7 they made a difference. Also what gears do you have, it would prob be better to go with 4.56. I would think that if you have 35"s and you have a 3.55 rear it would just be bogged down.
right now i have a flowmaster 50series single to dual and K&N air filter. yea ive been told about the gears i plan on doing that in the near future but i was wondering about engine accessories. what would get me the most torque and HP?
Hey, i have an 05 with a 6" lift and 34.5"s...so i feel your pain. I have a gibson dual exhaust, K&N 77 series cold air intake, and a stage 2 jet chip. But still, i hate to break it to you, changing gearing is the only REAL way your going to compensate for those tires. I havent done it yet either...but its at the top of my list. Hope i helped ya out bud.
