Your owners manual lists 2 maintenance schedules. One for a 3K change and one for a 6K change. Read the conditions and choose the one that best fits your driving conditions. Since Dodge is your warranty provider, the are the best ones to seek this kind of advice from.

Yeah I read the manual a few months ago and it looks like 6k is for me but I'll check with Dodge 2morrow. Thanks.

If i decide to change my own oil (which I've been doing since forever) what's the best brand? I've been using Castrol GTX for years but this is a new truck and I'm not sure. Thanks.

If you change it in accordance with the manual you shouldn't need to check any further, since the manual is Dodges recommendation. Castrol should be good. Any API certified motor oil a the proper weight will ensure your motor lasts as long as you need it. I run Mobile 1, but it's overkill if you change your oil at the recommended interval.
