Tranforming a 2004 into a 2006 by changing the front end.
I'm interested in changing the front end of my 2004 dodge ram to a 2006. Has anyone done this type of alteration? I know I have to purchase various parts including headlights, etc, etc, etc.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
RE: Tranforming a 2004 into a 2006 by changing the front end.
It will take an entire front clip (fenders, hood, grille, bumper, etc.). It will also require considerable modification to the frame, since DC redesigned the frame for '06. However, it's not always a good idea to modify frames, especially if welding, drilling, or torching are involved. The PCM also controls the electrical system on the Rams, and there may be enough differences between the two models, to give you some fits with the lights. Simply stated, it will cost you a considerable amount of cash, time, and effort. It's not a simple plug and play mod. And in the end, you won't gain any value at all in your '04. You'd be money ahead to trade in on an '06.
