Default Painted Door Handles

I want to paint the door handles to match the bright white color of my truck. I heard you could take the paint code to any paint store and they would match it? How should I go about applying the paint?

To do something like door handles, you better have a body shop do it. The handles should be removed prior to painting, all the rough texture completely sanded down, plastic primer, regular primer, paint, then clear. Wet sanding between each coat after the regular primer is on. That is such a high wear area too that it would be good to have some kind of warrantee with it too. By the way, the worst thing on painted door handles on vehicles?: Women's rings!

I agree 1,000% with Jetpig. I recently took my plastic V-Tech taillight covers to a body shop to be painted and even tho they were brand new they had to sand, prime, paint, and clear coat them. The covers now look like they came from the factory. Let the professionals do the painting.

Thanks a lot for your help. Looks like I'll be taking it to a body shop and have them paint the handles.

If you get it done soon, post a pic and how much it cost. I might be looking to go that route also as an alternative option to getting the chrome handles.

Definately don't try it urself

I did mine at a bodyshop my uncle owned so i did it for free

but if u talk to them they may not charge u as much if u would just sand them urself and then take it to them to paint them

but be prepared to pay some money
