Default Spark Plug Change

New here to the Forum. After having my truck into the Dealership for having the engine light on, I found out that the gas caps valve was bad and that the dealer tried to get me to have the plugs changed on my truck. They told me that with having 46000 mile on the truck that the plugs are showing aged. After finding out that they wanted $300 just for a basic tune-up of changing plugs I said that I would try it myself. Well after having 51000 mile before changing the plugs I finally made the plunge. I read on the forum about other people changing there plugs and that it took only a few hours to do this. The rear plugs on the drivers side was the hardest, but with reading in the forum I knew what size extension and socket to use. After putting the truck back together I realized that I had a engine fault code. The only thing that I could figure out is that when doing the plugs I unplugged the air box on top of the motor. With having the Superchip module I was able to clear out the code of ( Air cool sensor reading Hi) and cleared out the code. Let me tell you that the truck is running just like new, Man what a difference. I put in Champion Double Platinum with a 5yr warranty for a little over $80. This is a huge saving and what a difference.

I would just like to say Thanks And Hands Down To The DODGE FORUM [sm=groupwave.gif]

I just changed my plugs at 59,000. I used the same Champion Double Platinums, but they only cost me $32 + tax. I wonder if the NAPA guy rang up the wrong product, after seeing your price? or did that $80 include anything else? The manual says to do it every 30k for my conditions, and I never did it until now. 5 of them were very easy, two were tricky (back ones), and one a total PITA - the master cylinder is in the way of the 3rd one on the driver side.

I didn't change any wires. I am wondering, should I? did you?

Personally, when I change plugs in anything, I change the wires too. Not sure if it's something that NEEDS to be done, but it's one less thing to remember later, and new parts are always nice.
