WTF!!! Truck got keyed
I need to vent here. I was at my G/F's place last night for a couple of hours and parked on a street. The city is kinda rough but the area where she is not that bad. Have spent many nights there so far and havent had any problems until now. So I leave there late last night and go home. I get up this morning to go to work and walk to my truck and what do I find?!?!?! A long deep scratch on the drivers side from my back door half way through my front door. Its not a surface scratch.... defininatly a deep scratch put in by someone with something sharp. What a great way to start off a friday!!! Does anyone have any good ideas how to maybe buff it out or get some touch up paint? Anyone else have this yet? Every time now when I get into my truck I am going to see this scratch and be pissed off for hours!!! For my sanity I need to get it fixed. [:@]
You said it is not a surface scratch, so the only way to fix it is to take it in. Turn it into your insurance, if you deductible is less that $500.
The best way to get it back to the way it was would be to get it resurfaced and repainted. Buffing a really deep scratch can usually only fill in the cut, but not blend the colors in like a small scratch would.
Sorry to say, but you'll be making a call to the insurance company to get this repaired. If it is as deep as you say, respraying or even a good paint match and airbrush will be needed. Sorry to hear about your truck. Some people have no respect for anyone elses hard earned belongings anymore....[:@]
some little kids did this to mine on february 8th...i have the $500 deductible and it still isnt fixed yet because im broke...i was quoted $508 to fix it from a shop, so the insurance would save me $8...woooptie doo huh? i had a lawyer friend of mine write a letter and i talked to them and stuck the letter in the mailbox, they moved 5 days later...

It is things like this that makes me happy I have all my own tools. But paint is expensive anymore. A quart of red for my Viper ran $140! That was just the base, no CC in that price. Granted, red is the most expensive. As a comparison I also bought a quart of black for my Jeep (cheapest color), it was just a hair over $40.

My nephew (4 at the time) once decided to "wash" my Intrepid for me...
He used a chunk of cinder-block he found behind the shed...
Fortunately I'm drinking buds with my insurance agent... My sister only had to pay my $250 deductible.
I wish I could find the pictures... My Forrest Green 'trepid was mostly white on the verticle surfaces... Little bastard couldn't reach the hood or truck lid. Had to replace all the lenses, most of the badgin, and both windows on the driver's side...
He hides under his bed now whenever my brother-in-law says "carwash."

Nemachuck,
I feel your pain. I live with my g/f at an apartment that we share. Yesturday was an outstanding day, I got a new job making substancially more money. Anyway I get around for work, go out and what do I see, a busted out passenger side rear window. (quad cab). They took my current employer's laptop, and that was it. My CD's, 100 dollars and cash, all the electronic parts I use to install home automation systems, ALL untouched, but just a laptop that requires a password to boot up, and a password to actually log into the Operating system. So it's virtually useless.
I had to pay for the window out of pocket ($223.45) and still trying to figure out which of my insurance (renters or auto) will cover the laptop, neither want to cover it because it belonged to my employer.
So yeah it's been a ****ty ****ing day.

once when i was little i decided to make sure if my moms black pontiac grand prix ever got stolen it would be easy to find so i wrote my name in it with a screwdriver. i was like 4 and dont know what i was thinking. my dad was on midnights at the time and was so tired with work and stuff that he was too tired to be really mad. i dont remember it but my mom said he walked into the garage saw it right when i had finished looked at it said "great, just F****** great!" and went back inside. lol sucks to hear about your truck tho man i know i cant wait for my income tax returns so i can get my front bumper replaced.
