At 6'3", I've got long enough arms to reach my rear slider window and open it. (ok, stop with the gorilla jokes already, I haven't dragged my knuckles on the ground all week. )

But I never do because if there is any small particles of anything (dirt, leaves, wood chips) in the bed, it will blow in through the window.

Sorry guys! Just my opinion, but I happen to love the sliding rear window... my current truck is my third that has it and it's actually something I look for. Like hoopdad, I'm 6'2" and have no problem reaching back and opening/closing it from the driver's seat, even in the quadcab. On trips, I actually will keep the cooler in the bed and as long as somebody's in the backseat, can have them reach back anytime and grab something from it. It also makes a nice passage for temporarily running the wires for my cb antenna's. It's also very nice to have open when backing up and somebody behind is directing you, for example backing up to a trailor, or into a tight spot for some reason. And I'll even throw it open on hot days, not that it creates that much extra windflow, but I do it anyway. Like I said, just my opinion!

I have the heated mirrors option on my'02QC. I also have the factory tinted sliding rear window with no defrost option (as far as I know, there is noheater lines in it). I am really considering going to aOEM tintedsolid rear window with the defrost option. Does anyone know if the wiringfor the rear window defrost option is already there and just I just need to plug and play and if so, where will I find the connector? I like the sliding rear window, but have never really used it and feel that I would get more use out of tinted solid window with the defrost option. If it is a simple swap and is plug and play, I may be willing to trade theOEM tinted slider for an OEM tinted solid rear window with defroster. I live in Southern VT. Thanks in advance.

I am part of the "over 6' club", and I can reach it from my driving seat. I would hate not having it for when I launch the boat into the lake and backing the trailor in to the lake to land the boat. Without it I would have to stick my head out to hear my fishing partner talk to me.

I second that! Just don't use it that much, Either too cold or I got the A/C on.

I likerear sliderfor 2 reasons.
1. It does get a good air flow going.
2. If someone is talking $hit in the back seat I open it and wa la can't hear a thing.
