Default 2006 1500 Tailgate Spoiler Removal

So I went to remove this big black ugly plastic thing on top of my tailgate only to find big square holes in the tailgate underneath.

Has anyone found a good solution to fill the holes?
I plan to get an over the rail bedliner soon.

thx

if you buy the back part of a factory drop in bedliner that would work...

Expect to see about a .75 MPG loss in fuel due to the worsened areo.

Thanks for info.

Damn with the price of gas I guess I better just get used to it.
Maybe it will blend in better once I have the bedliner.
Guess I will keep it for now.

If I do rip it off i'll let ya know.
There is one on ebay right now for sale btw

HAS ANYBODY PUT A SOFT TONNEAU ON WITH THE FACTORY SPOILER, WILL IT FIT CORRECTLY? I KNOW THE SPOILER SITS UO APPROX. AN 1/2 INCH HIGHER, SO BEFORE I GET A TONNEAU COVER I WANT TO FIND OUT.

It will fit, but it sits up a little bit on top of the spoiler. I ended up using some silicone spray on the weatherstrip on the edges of the
TC so the tailgate would close without peeling the weatherstrip back. I think if you got some plasic bed rails it would work better.

Does anyone know of where to get a tailgate spoiler for a good price? (other than ebay)

thanks thats exactly what i was thinking, put bedcaps on to bring the sides up a bit or to put camper shell weatherstrip on the bottom of the tonneau rails to lift them up a 1/4 inch or so.
