Ha.
This is nothing. Think back to 2002-2003 when this kept up for about 6 months.

I don't think it's just Dodge though - Ford has their employee pricing, stuck my wife with a minivan she hates. (shouldn't have bought the Ford minivan anyway) We'll most likely have to keep it another year until we've reduced negative equity enough for trade-in.

It wouldnt be so bad if it was just Dodge.
But ALL the brands are doing it. and used cars are worthless.

But the good news is, you can get a Program Vehicle for next to nothing.

I just got a Signature Series T&C for a customer a few weeks ago.
New this is like a $34,000 van.
I got him an '05 with 12k for only 21,500.

Some dealers (the ones you do not want to do business with) tell you this, yet after they take your trade the retail price is thousands higher! Do not let them BS you. Your trade in is what is reported on NADA or in some cases KBB.

Another thing to consider, and they will not tell you this when trading in, but will be fast to tell the buyer of your used truck, all the 06s have a 3/36 and that is IT! Where as 05 and older have the 7/70 powertrain.

When you go in to trade/buy you have to know your stuff and be willing to walk to another dealer. You will get fair trade if you do this.

I bought my 2003 QC 1500 in April and traded it in 2 weeks ago on a 2006 Mega 2500 diesel and pretty much got what I paid for it. The first dealer gave me a good price on it, and I used that to get an even better price at the next one.

A lot depends on what you're trading for and the location you are in as well...
about 3 months after I bought the truck, Nissan in Mesquite offered me 14500 for the truck where Kia in Dallas offered me 18500 which is what I paid for the truck. I like to just play around sometimes.....don't want a Kia for my Dodge truck!

About 2 months ago, the dealership I bought the truck at offered me 14500 for the truck and a 2 Chevy dealerships offered me 14500. See how they like to play? All these dealerships are within 75 miles of each other. My truck is base model with a few things added....

EDIT: wait I paid 18 for my truck After they added cruise. 500 was from the Jeep Cherokee I traded. They just could not stand to pay it off.

dodgedlr: I wasn't paying attention to sales back at that time, as I was quite happy with my 2000 4x4 Dakota Sport. What was the sales promotion at that time? It lasted 6 months?

You are always better off selling on your own.

Huge Rebates, 0%, deferred payments, big Bonus Cash etc.
Was a 30 day program just like all the others, but it kept getting renewed or even upgraded.
I had a guy throw a heck of a tantrum when I told him his used '02 was only worth 20k.
But why would I give him more than that, when I can go to any dealer auction and buy them for 19,500-20,000?
