opinions?
i have an 06 ram and want a semi-loud exhaust...so i as thinking of a 40 series flowmaster muffler ONLY and just leaving the stock resonator on, BUT a flowmaster representative said to go with a super 40 so i dont choke up the engine...he recomends the 50 series HD....what are some of your opinions?
Super 40's are great if you don't mind the exhaust being loud. I had them on my GTO and other vehicles. I have the 50 series on the truck now and love them. You get a nice throaty sound that isn't obnoxious but very noticable during hard excelleration. If you were in the San Jose area I'd say drop me a line and I'd meet you so that you could hear it. Performance has also improved slightly (milage and power). Hope this helped.
I too have an 06 and am looking for a "meaner" exhaust... however, I'm waiting for others with MDS to be the guinea pigs.
I dont' want to sink $$$ into exhaust only to find out it prevents MDS for working or robs me of torque.

exhaust should have no effect on mds...it kicks in when your engine temp hits a certain temp and when you are light on the throttle. Too large of pipes may have an effect on low end torque, however.
i put just a flowmaster delta flow on my 2005 hemi and it has a really nice sound, not loud at all but nice and deep sounding. I plan on taking the resonator off soon though cause it isnt loud enough for me.

Super 40s without the resonator will give you the loud and deep sound u're looking for. Arrowman no it doesn't prevent the MDS from working. Actually it makes the MDS more noticeable.
