For my gear swap out see if I have everything I am going to need...

1 Master Overhaul Kit, Chrysler 9.25", Includes Pinion and Carrier Bearings, Pinion Seal, Pinion Shims, Pinion Nut, Ring Gear Bolts, Crush Sleeve, Gasket, Gear Marking Compound, Loctite, and Brush

If i order this will that be all I need, do i have something wrong or whats the deal? Do I need 2 overhaul kits?

kharding20, are you just doing one axle? If you are, that should be all you need, except some gear oil and posi additive. Of course you could just put Royal Purple synthetic oil in it and save you a lot of worry, since it already has posi additive in it. Oh, and you might need some high temp silicone for the cover.

Im doing both axles, front and rear.
My biggest question is my front a 9.25 or not. It has 3.55's in it now. I planned on using royal purple oil. What all do I need to do both axles?
2 sets if gears
2 install kits
Gear oil
and silicone for the cover?

The front is 8.25 on the majority of them.

Make sure you get the master kit for a LATE Model 9.25 rearend. And the silicone is help hold the gasket in place and seal it from leakage.

When you do it, could you try to take some photos to share with the forum? particularly once you have the diff covers off, how to remove, reinstall the new rings and pinions. I've been wondering about that myself. Also, if you could summarize what you finally needed, it would be great info to decide if this is something I can do in my driveway. Thanks!

hoopdad, unless you have a lot of experience doing this, I would not recommend you do it in the driveway. Not saying it can't be done, just need a lot of expertise in this to do it. The vehicle needs to be up on a rack for ease of replacement and adjustment of the gear set. PM me if you are interested.

you can do it in the driveway..its much easier on a rack, but it can be done...ive seen it done laying in the grass at the dragstrip..(not in a ram)
