Please Help: 2006 Vibration
I had the same vibration in my 06 quad 4x4.
I changed out the factory 20's to Mickey Thompson classic 2's with BFG all terrain tires and it got a lot worse.
After having the tires balanced 3 times at different dealers to no avail.
I finally carried my truck in and had on vehicle tire balancing done.
It completely fixed my problems I was having on my truck.
I can finally run 80 and not loose my fillings
It cost a lot more for the balancing but was well worth it.
I had mine done at Butler tire they where the only tire shop I could find that offered that service in my area.

No they actually balance the tires while on the truck.
They have a section on it at http://www.butlertire.com/services.asp if you are interested.
Look for high speed balancing
They start off with road force balancing then finish with the high speed balancing.

Powerslave's suggestion to do 'on-vehicle' balancing is an excellent one.
Even if the true problem turns out to be something other than tires or wheels
a well-trainned technican will be likely to able to spot the offending components
...which could be a bent driveshaft, bent axle, out of balance brake rotor, etc
while the vehicle is being brought to speed on the rack
where it is easier to see.
If the Butler Tire people first use the GSM 9600 Hunter
then 'fine tune' on the vehicle
that is about the best of all methods.

I also have the same problem . so far it is 3 differt problems the first was the tires, we road force ballanced the tires and it was alittle better . next we tried a new drive shaft this was no help . we also tried differt pinion angels this was also no help . we put a new clutch fan on little if any help at all . Next chrysler tech suggested the exhaust was to tight and to reposition the heat sheilds . this cut the vibration in half . we have just found out that when you run the truck on the hoist with the wheels on the wheels act like a dampner so you cant hear and noise . take the wheels of and then you hear the harmonic coming from the rear diff . we ran it for a wile and the diff got so hot you could only touch the housing for a few seconds. my local dealership said it was set up way to tight form the factory the backlash was upto .008 " different around the gear set
The next day update / the diff is completely rebuilt new everything and the Vibration is still there . now there are looking at the transfer case and tranny it also makes the Vibration in neutal going downhill motor off . does any one have the answer yet ??

Fellow Dodge Forum members, I've been away for a while, (just like Superman, "I'm sorry Mr. President!)".
I had all 4 tires and wheels tested for being out of round per Michelin's specs on the latest, greatest tire-wheel machine, (Hunter 9700). They were all within the "Ground Force" level of 40 lbs. The wheels were checked for being out of round and being warped, (they were all good!) They were "ride matched, (rotating the tire on the wheel for best, least, groung force).I saw that the worse tire/whell was 26 lbs. and reduced to 19 lbs. the others were well within spes at 19,7,&7. The 19 was reduced to 7 as well by ride matching. All were balanced again.
Well, a follow-up to my vibration issues: A factory engineer has worked on the problem for a total of three days now, (two days after the Thanksgiving holidays and 1 day, Dec 17). I had expected him to attach some vibration sensing units on the truck to measure the vibration. He didn't!During the "ride," he and the service manager HAD TO NOTICE the vibration at the points I complained about. I pointed them out to them as I rode in the rear seat, (the service manager drove).
He put in a "shim," (actually a series of 1/8' washers under the transmission mount-to-frame, to equal 3/8th "), to correct the driveline angle to within the 1 degree spec. The start of the vibration moved from the original 38 MPH point to 58 MPH thru 75 MPH. Next he added hose clamps,(to quote "re-balance" the driveshaft), atthe back end, close to the differential. That didn't change a thing. BTW this driveshaft was the third one, it was removed and sent to a D/S repair shop and "balanced" prior to is fisrt visit. Lastly, he put in another driveshaft, test drove the vehicle and stated to the service writer,"it seems ok to him." I don't know what other things he did, the service report does not say. I picked the truck up on the 18th, with the vibration STILL present at 58 MPH thru 75 MPH. This D/S has two hose clamps, also,as I have seen so far. It seems that THEY don't go far enough to diagnose and find the cause. I have sent a 2 page letter to the dealership's owner and a 3 page letter to Diamler Chrysler-Dodge stating the history and all attempts with unsatisfactory results. Waiting for a call from whomever!
I WILL follow up! I told them, Diamler Chrysler also, that I was going to share all this with the Forum. I feel that, if they have gone to the effort to make a difference , in my case, they acknowledge the problem. Although THEY have not stated that "they feel the vibration," HE just began to do is thing!
I know this is a long post, but I want to be as complete as possible so all of us gain gain with as much info as possible.
Best Regards and Merry Christmas to all.

Not to beat a dead horse but if he shimmed the tranny, all that did was adjust the pinion angle. What is the factory "spec" or did they tell you? What is the angle now or did they actually measure?
I just received the FSM for the 03-05 1500 but have not had a chance to go through it yet to check on pinion angles, driveshaft critical speed tests and other seemingly non-important issues. Sounds like you guys have a geometry problem.
BTW, the hose clamp thing is not uncommon. There is actually a company that makes a driveshaft balancing devicewhich clamps to the driveshaft and "balances" it using centrifical force. Only thing I don't like is they use Hg as the balancing media. Another thing that *MIGHT* help is foam filling the driveshaft. Chevy has been doing it to the HHR's for tinging and vibration problems and if I'm not mistaken, Ford hsd also started. High end cars have been doing it for a long time now, as well as foam filling the frames.

My 2005 is in the shop, and we have a 2007 as loaner, brand new, got 1000km's on it now, and even just driving around town (not highway) there is a horrible vibration in this truck. Can't wait to get my 2005 back.
Have any of you guys with vibe troubles, tried putting a couple hundred pounds weight in the bed?
I have some minor vibes in my new truck (mostly 35-50and 60-70mph) and it seems much less noticable
with a couple hundred pounds in back. not that this is a right way to fix a problem but may point to the
needed corrective action.
btw i was at a dodge dealer with my 00ram, and asked about the vibration in my new truck(06 with 2k miles)
they said I could pay to have them roadforce balance my tires and then if a tire was bad I could then go to a goodyear
dealer for replacement. No warrantee coverage. is this what I have to look forward to with dodge service dept.?
discouraging
