Default How to get the Smoothest Ride Possible?

What are some of the options I can do to give my truck the absolute smoothest ride a truck can get? Besides the vibration Im getting which is hopefully gonna be taken care of tomorrow, I can feel almost every bump in the road. I relize that it is a truck so it wont get to much smoother of a ride than it is now but still it would be nice to not feel every pebble and crack in the road as much or not at all.

go to 17's
change to a softer, adjustable shock
air down your tires
put some weight in the back
The last two will reduce your mileage

Well Swaping out my 20's isn't an option and I will not sacrafice Mileage for a smoother ride so airing down the tires and adding weight is out. Which shocks are good (truck is not lifted)? and is there anything I can change on my suspension to make it smoother?

I would recommend the same, but seing how you don't like the options that will yield the biggest result, I recommend you to do nothing. With aftermarket shocks, you'll notice more control because they are stiffer than oem. This will yield good results on fair to good roads, but you'll still feel imperfections in the road. The F-150 has a nice cushy ride, but as soon as you throw in some twisties, he body roll is horrible! It's all about trade-offs and compromise. Dodge went with a stiffer suspension to offer better handling. Then again, ride is all in the rear of the beholder

Well if thats the case then I guess I'll just stick with it as is. Its not to bad but if it means sacrificing everything that I like about the truck to make it a little smoother of a ride then its just not worth it then.

FWIW, I replaced my factory shocks with Monroe Reflex shocks and noticed that the jarring of the big bumps wasn't as noticable and the suspension "recovered" quicker, however, the over all ride was stiffer and I could still feel the little bumps. I also went from P rated tires to LT rated tires and noticed I could feel more bumps than usual due to the stiffer sidewall.

I realize too, that it's a truck and bumps are expected...but does anyone else think the 20" wheel going over a speedbump is the work of the devil?

and screw going diagonally over any speedbumps unless you want passengers to lose their lunch

The handling was great, but I attribute that to the tire design and the fact that they were new. The tires were LT275/70/17 GY Wrangler SilentArmor. It is a shame I sold my truck 2 months after I got those tires. They were expensive.

My tires handle great but they have alot thinner sidewall. Mine are Nitto NT 404 Extreme Force SUV 275/55/R-20 116v XL B "V" rated tires. They hand and cling to the road so nicely. I guess its a sacrafice Im just gonna have to live with
