I have the factory window tint on the 2 back doors and the rear window. I am looking into getting them darker. Do they have to take the oem tint off or just put another sheet over it?
5% all around is my suggestion too. it should run ya about 150 bux and they would take the OEM tint off unless you want it on for a darker look in the back... up to you, youd have to let them know either way
Beware that in some states it is illegal to tint drivers side and passengers side windows more than the factory. Cops like to be able to see in as they walk up.
True but most places will still tint the windows for you though. In Az the limit is 15% I think but on all my old vehicles I always put 5% on them the window place just wont be able to warrantee it. Or atleast thats the way it was with the place I always go through. They'll also put the tint over the factory tint if you want them to. Id suggest it mainly cause I personally think the factory tint keeps the heat out alot nicer than the aftermarket tint. Also the worst case sinareo as far as the police are concerned is that they'll make you peel it off right then and there where they pull you over, but I think they'll give you a warning to get it removed first but Im not sure. I know my friend has had to peel his off with the cop watching him do it on the side of the road at least 8-10 times already but he did double limo all around. It looked good when it was tinted........ Oh also most states will let you do the backes as dark as you want them to be its just the driver and passenger side doors that they have a problem with, Just remeber that the darker you go the less visability you'll have specially night driving.....
