I would have bought the '07 headlights but they don't yet have them in black(night runner) style.

i love your truck but just curious...why would you want to drop a 2500 and make it look like a race truck? not putting anyone down just doesnt make sense to me. also never understood all the people on here that wanted to put 06 front ends on their truck. i realize they just like the look better but to me it seems like its trying to be something that it isnt. a kid at my school has a f150 with a licoln grill it looks rediculous and cheesy because he still has f150 emblems on the doors and tailgate lol. dont get me wrong i love your truck but just dont get why you wanted to make it into something its not.

btw post some pics after you get it painted

You can't here in the US but you can in other countries ie. Mexico. They label their trucks based on load capacity and the 1500 is modified(leaf springs added etc.) to handle more load. The 1500 are the smaller trucks like Nissan, Toyota, Dakota etc. The 2500 from here is the 3500 over their.

BTW, the Hemi Sport is also not sold here in a RCSB only in QC.[sm=dontgetit.gif]

I can't speak for others but I my case it was done because in Mexico you can't drive an outdated model in fact most are now buying '07 models, lol. Why not buy a '06-07 model you ask? Because they come with MDS and I did not want to deal with that. The truck is getting a 6.1(built & stroked to 6.8) and has a turbo, nitrous, flashed computer etc. that would make it difficult with the MDS on the '06+ models. Also, the added expense of having to swap everything out into the new truck so it was easier to just buy the new front end.

As far as changing the looks I see no problem with people putting on the SRT-10 hood on their non SRT truck, or Cadilac front on a Chevy, or Lincoln front on the Ford etc. BTW, I also have a Expedition and have a '02 Hardley Davidson front chin spoiler and a '04 Lincoln Navigator rear bumper cover on it.

You can get any heavy duty (3/4 or 1 ton) trucks in a short box. My buddy has an '03 1 ton with a short box, I considered a 3/4 ton short box before I set my sights on my 1/2 ton. Also, there is zero size difference in the 3/4 and 1 ton Rams. The 1 tons have the same frame same sheet metal (1/2 ton also has the same sheet metal), just about the only difference between the 1 ton and 3/4 ton Rams is the 1 ton has an extra leaf spring under the bed to give it more load capacity.

On another note, if you don't want to deal with the MDS in an '06 you can buy the 3/4 ton with the hemi, the 3/4 ton doesn't have MDS in it (neither do any of the megacabs).

The 2500's and up here have a different frame than the 1500's plus different suspensions(not just one more leaf spring 3 vs 4 but they are wider 3" vs 4") and they have 6 lugs vs 5 lugs. Yes the 2500, 3500 etc. have the same frame etc. but mine is really 1500 here and I don't want a 2500 or 3500. I don't know for sure if you can get a reg cab in a short box on the 2500's maybe a quad cab though.

well im a little confused by that but i think that the point you were trying to make me understand was that in mexico the trucks are rated differently so a 2500 over there is the exact same thing as the 1500 over here?

and what did you mean by you cant drive an outdated model? like its illegal or what?

Basically yes it is a 1500 from here but with some suspension changes for load.

It is not illegal it just isn't cool, lol. If you want to be rolling you have to have like a '07 GMC Yukon Denali or any '07. If you are driving a '03 then you are not in the in crowd thats all.
