Coming home from work yesterday, I got passed by a Quad Cab Ram 1500 booking down the highway. It was all white, and as it went by, I noticed it had the tailgate badge ('05 and newer), the tailgate "spoiler" ('06 and newer) and... the afterburner tail lights ('07 and newer) copied from the new Durango.

That was the only change I could see, and although it gives it even more of a Chevy look for the rearend (combined with the tailgate spoiler), it doesn't look as bad as I thought it would.

 

i went by my dealer last nite but the gates were closed and i didnt feel like having to back out, going uphill out of the narrow driveway onto the busy highway that runs past it. i was gonna go see the 07s but doubt my dealer has any yet theyre a smaller dealer. i think i might go by there right now and see if i can take a look. if i see any ill take some pics and post em up (if i can figure it out when ig et back.

 

well my tiny local dodge dealer said they wont have em for 2-3 more weeks so ill check back in about a month and see if i can get pics. it felt awkward cuz two salesmen walked by me and saw my camera and looked at me weird (probbly wondering why a 16 yr old kid is walking around taking pics of their inventory) but thats when i asked about the 07s and was told 2-3 weeks. there is another dealer kinda close to me but its quite a ways for me to drive and not get any pics. im gonna call tomorrow after school and if they dont have any then i wont make the trip but if they do have some then ill go on up there. anyways i asked if they had any srt vehicles (sorta hoping they would have a charger cuz ive never seen an srt8 charger up close in real life) but they only had a 300c. i got some pics of that just to make it a somewhat worthwhile trip but i wont post any of that since it looks just like a regular black 300c except with srt8 emblems.

about the 06 and newer spoiler thing ive been seeing some 06s without em and was wondering if ppl were just taking them off or what so while i was there i just happened to park next to an 06 3500 dually 4x4 slt qc and noticed that it didnt have a spoiler on it. i thought it might be an employees truck but then i noticed it had a window sticker and plastic covers on the seats and stuff. so i looked at the tailgate to see if the spoiler had been removed but saw no holes on the back of the tailgate ont he front of the tailgate or on top of the tailgate and i remember a member here posting that he removed his spoiler and had several holes in the tailgate from where it originally was. dont know if it means anything but maybe you can get em with or without the spoiler? sorry for the ramble...

 

dodge is bringing back the fin's of the late 50's with thease awful tail lights, if thier were after burners behinf them, I would like them thier ugly....

 

Dodge does not put tailgate spoilers on the Heavy Duty 2500/3500 trucks. Its a 1500 thing.

A friend of mine has had his `07 3500 DRW for over 3 weeks now. The taillights are ugly for sure.

 

How ever you can buy the tail gate spoiler from dodge for $89.00

 

The headlights are also different. They don't have the amber/yellow strip on the bottom any more only the one on the side.

 

Here is the '06 front end on the '05 without it being painted yet. Hopefully it will be done this Friday.
