I have an 06 1500, but haven't heard anything yet. Will have to ask next time I go in. Thanks for posting this stuff.

What if you don't get it done? Would you be liable if you sold it to someone with a kid and they were injured by it?

Yes, this recall was just released yesterday. Actually it is 2 recalls, one for the seatbelt and one for the airbag. I pulled them up on the computer right away. (because I own an '06 1500).
Customer notification will not happen for a few weeks because they need to get enough parts built to accomodate the huge demand that will be coming in. At this point dealers are instructed to only fix un-sold vehicles with serious prospective buyers. (because a dealer cannot legally sell a NEW vehicle with an open recall). Customers are probably going to be asked to wait until parts are more readily available.

I don't believe there is any liablility to the OWNER to sell it. But why wouldn't you do it anyway?

Well I just checked dodge.com and put my vin in and it said yes. I didn't read all of the post before I called and made an appointment. But they didn't say anything about waiting. I'm taking mine in tomorrow.

Parts are available... but not enough if ALL the owners come withing 1 weeks time.

I doubt a dealer is going to make you wait - unless he is out of the parts - and I didn't say they would.
But the owner notification cards aren't going out for a few weeks yet.

Let us know how long it takes for the items to be fixed. Just wondering how long I'll be without a vehicle again because of their mistake.

They told me that if it is affected, then it will only take them about 2 hours. I will drop it off at 8:00 tomorrow and try to remember to let you guys know.

Yep, mine came up needing it too. As I'll never have a baby seat in the truck I don't really care, but I guess I'll have them do it when I get my first oil change in a month or two.
