Default Suspension lifts

I'm not very mechanically inclined, so this may sound like a dumb question to some of you. I've got a 06 ram quad cab TRX4. I put 33" BFG MT/Rs on it with no lift and they do not rub at all. So why do all of the main lift kit manufacturers say that their 6" lift kits will accomodate only 35" tires??? That is however for the 02-05 models, because as far as I know nobody makes a lift for the 06 models. Thanks guys!

I dunno. It's kinda retarded because I know a guy around town here has a 6.5" lift and he's running 37x13.50's. Probably just a precaution or they under-rate them bad, because I hear you can run a 35" with only a leveling kit. I'll be able to confirm that as soon as my leveling kit gets here. I'm gonna have the local Big O do a check fit for me. I'll let ya know how that works out.

It is my understanding that with a leveling kit yours will hold 35"s.

from my limited research, i believe that the tire size issue in relation to lifts, has little to do with true vertical height, but rather the potential turning issues because of wheel offset/back spacing. from what i've gathered, the 2" spacer lift/leveling kit will allow for 35" tires, but on factory offset rims. when u start putting on aftermarket wheels, the wheel/tire pushes out and increases potential contact with the front of the wheel well on hard turns/flex. i'm thinking that if u start getting in to the 6" lift realm, that will become less of an issue ;-) ~~ it'd be hard to rub when the top of the tire is below the bottom line of the truck! lol

Although my truck is only 2wd, with a 6" kit, the 35's fit with ease. With the 4x4's a simple leveling kit will accomodate a 35" tire.

Thanks guys! I'm probably gonna go with the 6" skyjacker when they come out with it for my truck, I'm still debating about the 3" body lift

Yeah as you can see in this pic, I still have a lot of room, absolutely no rubbing and on this kit, it says will accomodate 33" tires.. I put 35's on anyway and it's far from rubbing, now if I put a 37" tire, it may rub a little, but that's too big for a 2wd truck anyway....
