Default 4.7 H.O. question...

I am sure that this has been discussed many times before, but I have searched for over 4 hours and could not find it. I found that you can get from dodge, a kit to turn your 4.7 into a 4.7 H.O. with a new intake and two cams. BUT, it says that it only works on a 2002 model. Is there a kit that I am not finding for a 2006??? I want a little more power out of it, but I like to stay Mopar... Thanks for the help.

I know Hughes Engines has the HO cams so I would assume that they have the manifold to. I never really paid that much attention to it as I have a 5.2. I'm not sure what years it will fit either.

here is what I found and was talking about. http://www.buymopar.com/store/magnum.html

go there and look way downj at the bottom. It is the second to last thing on the page. It is an actual Mopar upgrade which is what I would want, but it says that it is only for an '02.

In my searching though. I don't know if this is true or not, but I read somewhere that the reason that it is only for an '02 is that after '02 all 4.7's had the same intake, just different cams. BUT, I have also read that there are quite a bit of internals different now on an H.O. I don't know what is true or not, so anyone done this???

my goal for the truck is not to make it really a hot rod, I just would like the cams. I really want an aluminum intake and some mopar valve covers, both just for looks. You guys still don't know of any valve covers or intakes do you???

i dont know of any aluminum intakes, but i know of a insulated (chrome looking) intake that is proven to be the BEST performing intake for our trucks, AND it is made by a person that has thousands of posts ON THIS VERY SITE!!

visit www.airram.com and you will find what he has to offer... if i were you i would get his little trifecta... which includes the BIGASS intake, Power wire (which effectively tricks your comp to thinking its 20* cooler outside and gives you 10rwhp) and a Jetstream scoop (which is an aggressive looking scoop that goes behind your grill that sends air directly up your intake)

this whole setup can be had for just over 300bux, with the intake for about 250, but compared to all the other big name 250dollar intakes, this one takes the cake, ask anyone who has it (including me) 99% wont have a single compaint...

-David

Here are some pics
This is the MASSIVE intake...

Here is the scoop...

And here is a pic of the Power Wire...

And if you want something that will really wake up that 4.7L, and combined with these previous 3 modes put you close to a Hemi... get some 456 gears... they will make you launch like a rocket ship

I like the air ram products, but that is not what I meant by aluminum intake, I would love to find an aluminum intake manifold... Which I highly doubt there are any for this truck, but I don't know why no one is makeing valve covers for it...
