Default 04 Quad Cab Ride Quality

I have an 04 Quad Cab with 20's. Lately I have noticed the ride quality has gone south and has become quite rough especially over uneven surfaces. Truck has 8200 miles on it. Anyone else seeing the same thing? I would have hoped that Dodge could make/use a shock that would last at least 20K. Not ready to invest in a set of shocks yet/this early

What do you mean LATELY??

My truck (04 HEMI QC w/20's) only has 1,500 miles on it and it jiggles and wobbles like a bowl of jello. It rides a lot better with a load in the bed. Ripples in the road make my gut jiggle to the point where I nearly get car sick! I almost crack my head on the side window going in and out of my driveway because the cab shakes back and forth so bad if I don't line it up just right. And that's at less then walking pace!

Check your tire pressure. Mine was WAY too high when I got it from the dealer.

My 04 QC Hemi rides the same way with 17s & ive lowered the air pressure to 32 lbs. It doesnt help much. I dont know what the answer is. The seat also kills my back. The lumbar sticks out even when its OFF. I always wanted a truck like this when i grew up & just turned 68, but i guess i havent grown enough yet!

I forgot to mention I LOVE my truck & am fortunate that I am retired & can keep it washed ,polished & garaged & treat it like my next door neighbor keeps his corvette. He has a red corvette , BUT MY FLAME RED HEMI IS BIGGER!

Man. I'm jealous. I wish I had more time to keep mine as clean as I wanted.

I have a regular cab with 7.5K mi. and it rides like a truck. I absolutely love it.[sm=smiley2.gif]
Now my Intrepid has a sweet ride.

B12Teuton Dude. Are you having a couple bad days or what?[sm=smiley26.gif]

I've had no problems with mine either, but of course I've kept in mind IT'S A TRUCK, not some luxury car with perfect suspension, a 1/2 ton TRUCK.

I put a clamp on the overload spring and it seemed to smooth out the freeway joints.

$10.00 at AutoZone.

Um I'm just checking, but everyone here bought a truck right? Then you wonder why it rides like a truck? I have no complaints on mine, but I don't expect it to ride like my pacifica either. You guys gotta remember you bought a TRUCK. Not a 300.

OK OK! I am perfectly aware that it is not a f**kn luxury car! It is a TRUCK and I know it is a TRUCK. Christ I hope so, that is what I intended to buy!. My point was this. The truck rode and handled extremely well for a TRUCK when it was new and continued that way up to 7000 miles or so. After that, I noticed a marked decrease in the overall ride quality. Air pressure was 32 when delievered and I have kept it that way ever since. I do not expect a TRUCK to ride like a car, never have, never will. I am just surprised in the change after 7000 miles.
