If you like the sound of your exhaust and its not overly noticable in the cab of the truck then you'll be fine traveling. Now if there is a loud "drone" noise in ther cab or you can hear the exhaust over the radio and other people talking then it may get anoying, not to you, but your wife may not like it to much. And as most of us know if the girl's not happy we're not happy. I would take them out and go for a drive for about an hour or so and drive at all speeds to simulate in town driving and highway driving and see what she thinks. Every now and then when my fionce and I go out for a trip my exhaust will give her a bad headache and my exhaust is no where near as loud as the super 40's.

 

To me, it's not loud at all. The drone is not as loud as I thought it would be. We go back and forth to NJ from upstate NY and the kids sleep fine.

I was going to go with the super 40's but I called flowmaster to ask what this HEMI HD specific muffler was about. They told me that the factory exhaust was a good design for flow on these HEMI's. They said that all of their other mufflers although made a nice sound, Flowmaster was also about power. They said that you actually lost 3-5 HP and more sign. 8-15 FT LBS of torque. Then they designed the 50 series HD. part #9530572. Only for the Hemi motors. I bought the complete cat back kit from 21's century exhaust in Fla. 800-276-6399. The kit retails for 699 but I had it shipped for 375. came with 2 chrome tips and a choice of rear side exit or straight rear exit. Awsome kit. Sounds very commanding when you fire it up. Nice mellow tone at idle (almost can't hear it in the cab) and when you jump on it, it has a bark with a bite. Its very loud, (sounds like a 67 440) but once up to speed, at any cruise speed weather on the Hwy or local traffic, the interior is quite tame. Not alot of res. I think this was the best exhaust I had ever had. I have had many different exhaust systems on different vehicles. All were either too loud (on the inside) or to quite on the outside. This one is just perfect like all of you agree with the super 40's but you don't loose power, you gain it.

 

hey buddy...so ur sayin the Hemi HD is not good? or it is better then regular 40series or super 40?....also do you have any videos...im lookin into a super 40 series as well....if you can get video footage that would be awsome bro...
