Well, I took the plunge today and ordered some nerf bars. Got the Westin Signature Series in black powder coat. Anyone have anything like this? I'm really wondering what they'll look like on my truck. Had to get black cuz EVERYONE around here has chrome, SS, or polished SS. How painfully ordinary. Had to get 'em for the wife. Has a hard enough time climbing in at stock height and my leveling kit just showed up. Gettin 'er pieced together slowly but surely!

 

I have stainless steel...struggled between those and black. I got them for the same reasons as you did but was quite impressed with how nice they looked.

Basically the same as Westin, same mounting system, pretty much identical except for the logo's...
I love 'em.

I'd never put brushed or chrome nerfs on a truck that actually leaves the street. Black bars are easy to fix... Just whip out a can of matte Krylon. Stainless look sweet, until you crack them while flexing over a rock. Way more brittle than plain old steel.
