Well you should turn off your brights when oncoming traffic is coming anyways. Shouldnt it be a safety issue to have brights because they blind oncoming traffic as well. I really dont think that the fogs will cause that much of a difference to oncoming traffic, but they will help my diving.

My 2006 1500 has foglamps on with high beams... it came without foglamps and had them dealer installed. Given this, I am sure if it is a computer parameter then the dealership can set it. Foglamsp do not light up the area that high beams do and provide negligable extra light in the direction of oncoming drivers.... they point down and out not forward and up like high beams.

You can run a wire from the hot wire on your fog light connector to the hot wire on your parking light connector and your fogs will stay on with your parking light, lows, and highs, and you only have to do it to one side, I've done this to my F150, my friends F150,his brothers Ram and my wifes Pathfinder, it only take about 5 mins to do, hope it helps

Thanks for the good info. Is your brother's Ram an '06? Does it matter? Any other details or pictures you or anyone else could offer would be great because automotive electrical stuff isn't my area of greatest expertise, and I don't want to mess up something on my brand new truck.

No, my friend's is an 05, but this mod will work on any year or make , it's supplying power to the fogs from the parking lights, I'll take some pics of mine and I'll see if i can catch my friend when he's home and take some pics of his,. It's really easy, just use a test light to find the hot wire on your parking light...not the one that's hot when you turn on the blinker, but the other one....then just run some wire from there to the positive wire on your fog light and you only have to do it to one side and that's it your done....

I haven't tried it yet. Are you still going to post some pictures? It sounds easy, but I'm not exactly an electrical genius, and I don't want to mess anything up on my new truck.

I may get flamed for this one, but it's pointless (and illegal here in MI) to have fogs and hi beams on at the same time. Fog lights are for driving in (duh!) fog. High beams are not. High beams in fog make you blind. So, the two of them are not meant to be used together. I KNOW!!! And you're right!! If you're responsible with your high beams you won't completely blind the person coming toward you. But come on, everybody forgets once in a while that they're driving with their brights on, we've all done it.....
