Everyone that tows in here!!!
I'm looking to buy a new truck for my daily driver and to tow my mustang around once in a while. I know diesel is the ultimate towing machine but how does the HEMI tow a car?? still debating on Dodge, Chevy, Ford so if you have driven others also, please let me know your thoughts!!

if your gunna use the hemi to tow you'll need atleast the 3.92 geared rear axel. that will help the engine and tranny out. swapping for 4.10's or 4.56's will help even more
but then again when I towed a buds chevy to the dealer I didnt even know it was back there untill I looked into the mirrors

my hemi tows like s***. i have a 22 foot boat and on the highway it stays at 3500rpm's and when you hit a hill it revs way up there. I had a 3/4ton chevy with the 6.0L and it towed awsome. and my freinds chevy 5.3 towed my boat and various other things better then my hemi in my perspective.

I'm just having a hard time deciding between gas and diesel. I towed with a 2002 4.7, sure it towed it fine but i wanted a lil bit better.

I agree if towing is your main concern then go with the diesel. But I have no complaints about my Hemi. In my Reg. Cab. 1500 With the 5.7 Hemi Ive towed and 81 Blazer like it wasn't there and a utitlity trailer filled with about 2 quarts of mesquite fire wood. Those are the two heaviest things Ive towed to date since I got the truck. I didnt get my truck for towing but its good to know what it can do if you need it. The only down side that Ive seen on the diesels was in my uncles 03' 2500, he towed a pontoon boat from Mesa Arizona to Lake Havasue for one of his friends and all he could do was just watch his gas tank drain. He did get the thing up there but on a trip that he should have been able to make it up on a single tank pulling his trailer hauling 4 quads, it took roughly 5+ tanks. He got roughly 5 miles per gallon at 65mph on that trip. However to be fair he was pulling a boat that was roughly 3 times as long and tall as his truck, couldn't tell you how heavy the thing was though but it was just huge. Im surprised that it even moved it as "easily" as it did.
