Yet another bed liner thread
Just wanted to say Kudos to line-X. Anyone looking to get a bedliner would be crazy not to go with the Line-X. The look is incredible and I was able to use the bed almost immediately. I have got nothing but compliments from people at work on the look of the over the rail job. I also wanted to say thank you to all the people that suggested I go with the Line-x over other brands. You guys rock.
If it's not raining cats/dogs tomorrow, I'll try to grab some pix of my Line-X job...
I still get a smile when I look in the bed... and I've been waaaaay less than gentle with it.
My only complaint is that it's slicker than the Herculiner I rolled in to my 03... But Line-X over the rails on a white Ram is SWEET!!!!!!
I'll prolly get a matt though if the coolers sliding around bugs me... I just love that I can literally throw my POS lawnmower in the back, drive 120 miles to the shore house with it banging around, cut the worthless 400 square feet of sand and weeds, drive home, and not find a single mark/scuff/scratch/ding in the bed.

Line-X looks great from the pics on the site. I'm waiting on an estimate right now, about what should I expect for a regular cab short bed? I'm not liking the idea that its so slick though, maybe once it gets roughed up a bit that will go away. I don't do alot of hauling in the bed so not a major issue here. Having to drive 70 miles to get it done is, but the only thing installed where I live is Rhino and even the guy who sprays it said it chips and cracks......
Now I haven't had my Line-x very long, but it is my understanding and experience so far that it won't roughen up or change really other then fade a little. It is a little slick but if your to worried, just buy a rubber mat like arrow mat said. Line-x warranty is a lot better then the others.
I just called line-x for a estimate they said 475 for under rail and 575 for over the rail.
Wow thats not a bad price at all.
I'm gonna go up thee to see it and i might just get it.
so my bed does not rust over this winter and if i haul stuff in it.
And my bed is a log bed.
sounds like a good price to me.

If you are going to use a rubber mat, why bother whith a bedliner at all? I believe a rubb er mat is $50-70 and a sprayin is $425-525. Is spraying the sides worth that much if you need a rubber mat?

The rubber mat is just an option if one thinks that their cargo is moving to much. I would still recommend the Line-x if you plan on havin gyour truck for a while. Because the sides and rail can get tore up real bad and rust is a terrible enemy of trucks. Even if you get a mat, you can take it out if you need to hall rocks or dirt. The you just shovel it right out and the line-x protects your bed from all of the dings and scratches. Shoveling off the mat you will end up cutting into it and terring it up. Thats my $.02.
i just bought an 06 and i left it at the dealership because they are doing an alphaliner for me, i think it's just a local las vegas liner company but one of my friends has it in his f250 and if it gets ANY chips EVER they will respray the problem area. also it's only 320 for over the rail.....i also got the discounted dealership price.
I have had good service from LINE-X and expect the rest of you too. If your finish happens to "fade", then use a little Armor-All to bring it back to the new look again. Of course, I wouldn't Armor-All the bottom of the inside of the truckbed, but it certainly helps to detail the area over the rails, if that part ever fades.
I've had the brush guards of my 4 wheeler sprayed w/LINE-X, and they look as good now as they did when I had them done over 3 years ago. I did my research too before going with LINE-X, and every that I spoke with that had a Rhino liner said their's either peeled, cracked or faded. BUT, the guys at LINE-X said that the lasting results are directly related to the surface prep PRIOR to spraying on the product. The metal surface has to be clean, free of rust, etc. My dealer used the sander/wire brushes to prep the surface before spraying.
LINE-X is a quality product when applied correctly. You won't be sorry.
